OUTNUMBERED

What's new - the show is still being built, in public.

A band in the room

7 September 2026

New

There is a house band on the set now, and they play. The walk-on over the titles, a sting when a question is answered, and something to fill the wait after the end card - which used to be two minutes of nothing.

New

They actually play what you are hearing. The drummer's arms come down on the beat, and whoever the music is leaning on is the one working hardest.

New

Three new camera angles on them, and their own lighting - so there is somewhere to cut to between shows.

Better

A band switch in the menu, next to music and voice, if you would rather they sat it out.

Badges, and something to post

3 September 2026

New

Fifteen badges, and not one of them is for turning up. You have to actually go and do something.

New

A share button on the end card. It turns your night into a picture - right answers, best run, points, badges - ready to post.

New

The room notices when The Many start thinning out. Fifty left, twenty five, ten, the last few - the lights hit and the host calls it.

Fixed

Nobody was recording answer times on the podium, so the quickest answer up there counted for nothing. It counts now.

Runs, and a page of your own

2 September 2026

New

Runs. Two right in a row and a counter appears. Five turns it gold. Miss one and it goes red and dies in front of you.

New

A run means the same thing in every seat, and being knocked out does not end it - you keep answering from the gallery, and it keeps counting.

New

Everybody has a record now. Tap your name up top, or anyone on the leaderboard.

Phones get their screen back

2 September 2026

Fixed

The bottom answer on a phone is tappable again. It used to run under the browser bar, sitting there looking perfectly fine and completely dead.

Fixed

The menu button no longer hides behind the home bar.

A hundred faces

1 September 2026

New

The host can talk to the room. When a real person is running the show you will hear them, and the music and the crowd duck out of the way.

New

One way only. Your microphone is never asked for and never used.

New

The question comes first now, on its own, for a few seconds. Then the three answers land.

New

The clock waits for the answers. You get the full time either way - reading was never meant to be the test.

New

A host can run a show beat by beat: hold it on the open, on a reveal or on the end card, and let it go when they are ready. The clock on a question never moves.

Fixed

Stay signed in now actually stays. Reopening a browser full of tabs had them all shouting over each other about who you were, and signing you out for it.

New

The Many have faces, and the face tells you exactly what just happened to that seat.

New

Shows end in confetti - gold if The Challenger survives, blue if The Many take them down. A hundred people beating one is a win too.

Perks you can actually read

31 August 2026

Fixed

Ask, Poll and Trust now show what The Many said on a proper card. It used to be crammed into a corner far too small for it, hiding behind the question you were trying to answer.

Fixed

Turning your phone mid-question no longer kills the answers until you reload.

New

A bar across the top of every page. Leaderboard to schedule without going home first, and nowhere near the answers.

New

This page. Everything that changes gets written up here, and you do not need an account to read it.

Better

Tidier addresses - /changelog/ instead of /changelog.php. Every old link still works.

Names on every seat, and a fairer question bank

30 August 2026

New

Every one of The Many has their name above their seat now, not just the twelve nearest you.

Better

1,287 questions rewritten across Money, Transport, Nature and Memes.

Better

The right answer was too often the longest one, which meant you could score by counting letters instead of knowing things.

Better

Two questions were marked with the wrong answer entirely. Caught, and fixed.

New

A feedback page - for a bug, an idea, or a question you reckon the bank has wrong.

Better

The in-game controls are one menu button now, well away from the answers. On a 16:9 phone the old row sat right on top of answer C.

New

The end card can send you home, and it counts down to the next show instead of vaguely promising one shortly.

New

A proper icon in your browser tab, and a real picture when you paste a link to the show anywhere.

The Gallery, sudden death, and a room with a voice

29 August 2026

New

Knocked out of The Many? You are not done. You move to The Gallery and keep playing.

New

You stop playing for a share of the pot and start playing for points, the same as everyone else in the stands.

New

Sudden death. Both sides still standing when the questions run out? The show keeps going until one of you falls.

New

Your answer locks the second you pick it, and the last five seconds beep at you. No more hovering until the buzzer.

New

The room has a crowd. Applause, a murmur between questions, and a proper reaction when a row of seats goes dark.

Better

The host has a lot more to say - new ways into a question, remarks between them, and the category announced in the gap instead of over the top of it.

Better

The arena spots a machine drawing it without a graphics card and drops to a lighter version, instead of crawling and letting you think it is broken.

New

Stay signed in, so you are not asked for a password every week.

Better

A question can belong to more than one category, so a themed show has far more to draw on.

Answers that fit a phone, and a show that breathes

28 August 2026

Better

The first wave of answer rewrites. Plenty were long enough to get cut off on a phone.

Better

The show slowed down. Ten seconds to answer instead of six, and time to sit with a reveal before the next one arrives. An episode runs about thirteen and a half minutes now, not eight.

The show finds its voice

26 August 2026

New

The show has a host, out loud.

Points, a leaderboard, and a podium that moves

25 August 2026

New

Points, and a leaderboard to keep them on.

New

Every seat scores the same: the same question on the same clock is worth the same on the podium, in The Many, or up in The Gallery.

New

The podium moves around the room. It used to go to whoever had the best record, so the same person took it every single episode while everybody else watched.

New

A way out. Leave show sits in the corner of the play screen, and it ends the show properly for you rather than abandoning a seat that is still technically yours.

New

Live shows on a schedule, hosted by a person instead of run by a clock.

New

A lighting rig over the arena that moves with the show.

Fixed

The interface no longer vanishes when you turn your phone, and portrait is its own layout rather than the wide one squashed.

Parties, and a fairer deal

24 August 2026

New

Parties. Share a four-character code and you land in the same shows as your friends, wherever each of you ends up sitting.

New

The three answers are shuffled once a show, so A is not quietly right more often than it should be.

New

A title sequence, so a show starts rather than just appearing.
