There is a house band on the set now, and they play. The walk-on over the titles, a sting when a question is answered, and something to fill the wait after the end card - which used to be two minutes of nothing.

They actually play what you are hearing. The drummer's arms come down on the beat, and whoever the music is leaning on is the one working hardest.

Three new camera angles on them, and their own lighting - so there is somewhere to cut to between shows.

A band switch in the menu, next to music and voice, if you would rather they sat it out.

Fifteen badges, and not one of them is for turning up. You have to actually go and do something.

The room notices when The Many start thinning out. Fifty left, twenty five, ten, the last few - the lights hit and the host calls it.

Nobody was recording answer times on the podium, so the quickest answer up there counted for nothing. It counts now.

Runs. Two right in a row and a counter appears. Five turns it gold. Miss one and it goes red and dies in front of you.

A run means the same thing in every seat, and being knocked out does not end it - you keep answering from the gallery, and it keeps counting.

Everybody has a record now. Tap your name up top, or anyone on the leaderboard.

The bottom answer on a phone is tappable again. It used to run under the browser bar, sitting there looking perfectly fine and completely dead.

The menu button no longer hides behind the home bar.

The host can talk to the room. When a real person is running the show you will hear them, and the music and the crowd duck out of the way.

One way only. Your microphone is never asked for and never used.

The question comes first now, on its own, for a few seconds. Then the three answers land.

The clock waits for the answers. You get the full time either way - reading was never meant to be the test.

A host can run a show beat by beat: hold it on the open, on a reveal or on the end card, and let it go when they are ready. The clock on a question never moves.

Stay signed in now actually stays. Reopening a browser full of tabs had them all shouting over each other about who you were, and signing you out for it.

The Many have faces, and the face tells you exactly what just happened to that seat.

Shows end in confetti - gold if The Challenger survives, blue if The Many take them down. A hundred people beating one is a win too.

Ask, Poll and Trust now show what The Many said on a proper card. It used to be crammed into a corner far too small for it, hiding behind the question you were trying to answer.

Turning your phone mid-question no longer kills the answers until you reload.

The right answer was too often the longest one, which meant you could score by counting letters instead of knowing things.

Two questions were marked with the wrong answer entirely. Caught, and fixed.

The in-game controls are one menu button now, well away from the answers. On a 16:9 phone the old row sat right on top of answer C.

The end card can send you home, and it counts down to the next show instead of vaguely promising one shortly.

Your answer locks the second you pick it, and the last five seconds beep at you. No more hovering until the buzzer.

The room has a crowd. Applause, a murmur between questions, and a proper reaction when a row of seats goes dark.

The host has a lot more to say - new ways into a question, remarks between them, and the category announced in the gap instead of over the top of it.

The arena spots a machine drawing it without a graphics card and drops to a lighter version, instead of crawling and letting you think it is broken.

A question can belong to more than one category, so a themed show has far more to draw on.

The first wave of answer rewrites. Plenty were long enough to get cut off on a phone.

The show slowed down. Ten seconds to answer instead of six, and time to sit with a reveal before the next one arrives. An episode runs about thirteen and a half minutes now, not eight.

The podium moves around the room. It used to go to whoever had the best record, so the same person took it every single episode while everybody else watched.

A way out. Leave show sits in the corner of the play screen, and it ends the show properly for you rather than abandoning a seat that is still technically yours.
